THE MEAN STATE

The Mean State

Hameed Abdul Karim

In its latest bout of arrogance, Israel displayed its mean nature when it cocked a snook at the world after Palestine’s recent success at the UN when that tyrant, Benyamin Netanyahu, haughtily declared that he will construct more ‘settlements’ in Occupied East Jerusalem to punish the PNC for defying the US-Israeli nexus. Israel went one step further by ‘withholding’ millions of dollars in taxes it has collected on ‘behalf’ of Palestinians. If you think it can’t get any meaner than this, Netanyahu said these confiscated monies will be given away to Israeli companies for supplying facilities, like electricity and water, to Occupied Palestine. Israel exploits and profits immensely from its occupation of Palestine so don’t be surprised if it chooses to charge the Palestinians for giving them ‘protection’!

In a recent incident the Israeli government sent the Church of Nativity in Jerusalem a ‘red notice’ demanding payment for electricity costs running into millions of dollars with a threat that lights will be cut off if the demand is not met with immediately. This move was to punish the Palestinians for successfully campaigning for the inclusion of the birthplace of the revered Jesus Christ into UNESCO’s list of ‘Endangered World Heritage’ sites. As expected the U.S., sometimes referred to as the ‘most Christianised nation in the Western world’, furiously objected to this move on the orders of Israel.  The U.S ambassador to UNESCO, David Killon went on record saying Washington was ‘profoundly disappointed’ by UNESCO’s move.

However, on the other side of the spectrum Hanan Ashrawi, Palestinian spokeswoman and herself a Christian, hailed UNESCO’s move saying ‘our identity, our place in civilisation are beginning to be safeguarded in the face of the Israeli occupation’s encroachment, the confiscation of our land and our culture’.

The fact that the Church of Nativity is badly in need of repairs and renovations is beyond dispute to those of us who have seen the holy shrine for ourselves. Unfortunately, Israel has refused to permit any such repairs since it occupied Jerusalem in 1967. What’s more, Israeli leaders have banned the preaching of Christianity in Israel and the rest of Occupied Palestine, the birthplace of the revered Jesus Christ. It’s not uncommon to hear that Ultra Orthodox Jews spit at Christians to gain a few ‘spiritual’ points. Neither is the burning of copies of the New Testament for that matter. And yet it’s this Christian charity running into billions of dollars and the land and other resources they steal from the Arab Christians and Muslims that’s keeping the ‘Jewish’ state afloat. The U.S. being Israel’s chief sponsor hands out over US $ 3.5 billion every year. If this charity were stopped, Israel would be on its knees within a few days.

Turnaround

Yet there is hope that something might give. The unprecedented summoning of Israeli ambassadors by Sweden, U.K., France and Australia to protest Israeli plans to build new settlements in occupied Jerusalem and the ‘concern’ expressed by the U.N. is indeed commendable. What remains to be seen is whether there is a genuine effort on the part of the U.N. and these nations to put Israel in its place or whether this ‘summoning’ is another familiar diplomatic eyewash that will go away once the TV cameras move on to another ‘breaking story’. We have been there many times before in the past 65 years.

As expected, Israel in its usual snobbish manner had showed the middle finger to the U.N. and the Western nations that had summoned its ambassadors. The chief ‘concern’ of the U.N. and the ‘summoning’ nations’ has been that Israel’s action might jeopardise the ‘peace process’, but Is there a ‘peace process’  in place or is there only an ‘illusion of negations’ with Israel? Since the day Yassir Arafat started the peace process, the ‘Jewish’ state has grabbed one piece of Palestine after another, making the prospects of a two state solution virtually impossible.

The recent overwhelming vote in the U.N. ‘urging’ Israel to open its nuclear and chemical weapons secrets to the world suggests that the world body is finally taking the Palestinian issue a bit more seriously. It’s the U.N. that should be entrusted with the task of bringing peace to the Middle East  after all it was the U.N. that created Israel under pressure from the U.S.

The U.S’s claim that it’s an ‘honest broker’ in the Middle East is bordering on fantasy.

THE WESTERN MEDIA AND ISRAEL'S BOMBARDMENT OF GAZA

The Western Media and Israel’s Bombardment of Gaza

Hameed Abdul Karim

Israel’s unilateral bombardment of Gaza received the expected support from the American media which in turn extended to the rest of the Western media including the BBC. All described it as a ‘war’ like as if a battle was being fought between two armies of equal military and economic strength.

What was not mentioned was that the Hamas was equipped with primitive rockets while Israel was armed to the teeth with American supplied high tech weaponry. Neither was the fact that Israel is the 8th powerful army in the world, known by its Orwellian term as ‘Israeli Defense force (IDF). This is the ‘defense’ force that has attacked all its neighbours since its creation. Israel continues to occupy sections of lands belonging to its neighbours till today. Besides it’s the only nation that talks of attacking one country or another – Iran in particular – like as if it’s planning a day of fun and frolic prompting Norman Finklestein, a leading anti Israel activist, to describe Israel as a lunatic state. Finklestein is a Jew and his parents were survivors of Germany’s Nazi camps.

ARE RUSSIA, CHINA AND IRAN LOSING OUT TO THE EMPIRE?

Are Russian, China and Iran Losing Out to the Empire?

                                                           Hameed Abdul Karim

The crisis in Syria has put Russia, China and Iran at loggerheads with the larger Arab population.

What the Syrians wanted was for Assad to relinquish his power and transfer it to the people as early peaceful protests indicated. For months the Syrians protested peacefully but when Bashar Assad retaliated with violence, the protesters took to arms.

Perhaps President Bashar Asad and his coterie of power hungry despots thought they could get away with a slaughter similar to the one the late Hafez Asad inflicted on Hama by killing over ten thousand ‘rebels’.  But this time, it seems, they have got it wrong. The point of time when Hafez Assad put down an uprising was very different to the present day Arab world.

Today the Arab population is very different. Youth have taken their destinies in their own hands and despite the negative images presented about the happenings in Libya, Egypt and Tunisia there is no way the new governments in these countries are going to go back to the bad old ways of their predecessors. Revolutions don’t end with elections of a new set of politicians. Rather they are processes that take time to grow.

RESPONSE TO ‘A VICTORY OUT OF THIS WORLD’

Be Sporty, Sri Lanka

Hameed Abdul Karim

Desmond Samith’s article titled ‘A victory out of this world’ (LAKBIMAnews Sunday October 7, 2012) shouldn’t have surprised me or even hurt my feeling. But you know what? It did both.

I have heard this tattle for years. I mean the skit ‘Sri Lankan Muslims supporting Pakistan because of their cultural and religious ties’. So, in a sense, Samith was only following an old script, but it still hurt, because it projected Muslims as traitors in this hyper patriotic era that we are living in today thus exacerbating the divisions that exist in our society.

US ELECTIONS: COMI-TRAGEDY

US Elections: Comi-Tragedy

Hameed Abdul Karim

For sheer entertainment and suspense there’s hardly anything to beat the US elections.  There are the tantrums and the hyperboles of the candidates that make you wonder if this is serious business or just another bout of fun and frolic. You will see supporters of both candidates cheering and whooping with every punch line either candidate makes. Makes you wonder if you are watching another Hollywood movie.

And for sure there is a Hollywood mix in it all. We had the ageing Clint Eastwood doing the talking to an empty chair, pretending he was talking to President Barack Obama. It went down well with Romney’s supporters. Makes you wonder if Eastwood is on the road to senility assuming he’s not already ‘made it’ there. Comedians had a field day with the Eastwood’s histrionics. After that show of theatrics he has been kept away from the circus. Maybe he has done his bit for the grand old party.

ISRAEL AND HOLY WRIT

       Israel and Holy Writ
                   Hameed Abdul Karim

Ms. Maureen Seniviratne is one of the most prolific writers in the local press. She deals with topics of public interest quite extensively and naturally she is widely respected for her contributions.

But, running the risk of being irreverent, I am afraid her views of the ‘Holy Land’ under her article titled ‘Holy War’ appearing in Ceylon Today on Saturday 24 September are a tad bit   off the mark. For example, she eulogises the European Christian crusaders when she says ‘those who fought in these holy wars were blessed on earth and after death would enter a place reserved for them in heaven’. Such characterising of slaughter of thousands upon thousands of Muslims, Christian and Jews by the Christian crusaders is to ignore the savagery that went behind the conquest of ancient Palestine. One of the commanders had sent a note to the then pope bragging that they were now walking ankle deep in the blood of the heathens in the holy city of Jerusalem. Pope Urban II must have been delighted with the news because it was he who had directed his soldiers to Palestine to stop the infighting between Catholics that threatened his hold on power.

THE DISAPPOINTMENT THAT'S OBAMA

         18 September, 2012

The Disappointment that's Obama

Hameed Abdul Karim

When President Barack Obama’s election victory was announced virtually the whole world whooped in joy. Here, we thought, was a chance that the world would be a better place to live in, without the likes of George Bush, Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, Donald Rumsfeld and company pursuing their dangerous extreme right wing policies to bring the world to its knees and force us to worship the empire.

Obama came in like a breath of fresh air. Being an offspring of a mixed marriage with and a white mother, we thought he might have a deep understanding of the feelings of people of all races. His ‘Muslim’ heritage led Muslims to believe he might accommodate their feelings and especially, right the terrible wrongs his country had inflicted on the Palestinians.

SUPPORT PALESTINE - DEFEAT ZIONISM

Saturday 24 September, 2012

‘…..Support Palestine Defeat Zionism…’

Hameed Abdul Karim

Coming hard on the heels of the of the vilest of movies ‘The Innocence of Muslims’ and the subsequent blasphemous cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in the French magazine Charle Hebdo, there is this outrageous advertisement on New York busses carrying  a vicious racist message.   The ad reads “In Any War between the Civilised Man and the Savage, Support the Civilised Man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad’. This spiteful ad made its debut in San Francisco on city busses. And now it’s in New York. The timing seems perfect considering the UN is having yet another of its talking shops.

The nice men and women of New York would think this might insult the delegates at the UN sessions. And they would be right because that’s the precise intent of the people behind this uncivilised advertisement when you consider the timing. Most of the delegates are indeed ‘savages’ or were referred to as such during the days when they were the ‘White Man’s Burden’.

SHEIKH AHMED DEEDAT

Sheikh Ahmed Deedat - A Tribute

The voice and words of this scholar won’t fade away

Hameed Abdul Karim

The news of Sh. Ahmed Deedat’s demise did not come as a shock because in a way we were all expecting the inevitable, since he was ailing for well over eight years. But still there was a feeling of sorrow because this great man – this wonderful man – had entered into the lives and minds of Muslim kings, princes and scholars to the students and the average men and women alike with his charm and brilliant scholarship in comparative religion.

Never was the truism ‘walk with kings and still not lose the common touch’ more true than in the case of Sh. Ahmed Deedat. He would chew the fat with King Fahd one day and sip coffee with a Bedouin the next chatting away, with a child like eagerness to learn something new.

A 'MUSLIM' THING?

A ‘Muslim’ Thing?

Hameed Abdul Karim

'The media are the eyes and the ears of the people'

When was the last time you read a piece in your favourite newspaper informing you of what’s going in Kashmir? Or about the malicious nature of Zionism which is the ideology of the Israeli occupiers of Palestine?

Never mind. We’ll come back to that in a while.

For now let’s celebrate the new found freedom of Aung San Suu Kyi and rejoice with her as she basks in glory whilst world leaders fall over each other to shake her hand. She deserves every bit of accolade for her long and unfaltering and unwavering stand for freedom and justice for herself and her people against a tyrannical military junta.

‘Israel Not Guilty’ – Israel

Nobody ever expected the Israeli court to convict or even hold the Israeli army, also known in Orwellian terms as ‘Israeli Defense Force’, culpable for the brutal murder of American activist Rachel Corrie in 2003.  But when judge Oded Gershon proclaimed, in the pompous way Israeli judges usually do when passing verdicts on gentiles, that Rachel Corrie’s death was her fault and that the driver of the Caterpillar bulldozer was in no way responsible since he couldn’t see her protesting on his way to demolish yet another Palestinian home in Gaza as ‘duty’ demanded.

WHAT'S GOING ON AT LAKE HOUSE?

This was in response to an article that appeared in the Daily News. It went unpublished.

WHAT’S GOING ON AT LAKE HOUSE?

Hameed Abdul Karim

“By way of deception, thou shall wage war” - Mossad motto:

The article in your Daily News on 23 August 2012 should surprise all readers of your grand old newspaper because it has (or had) an irrefutable reputation as a champion of Third World causes. But of late there has been suspicion that you have moved from that much lauded role and have ganged up with those who wish to dominate developing nations by one trick or another. Today’s article gives an indication of your shift.

Whilst all countries in the world, especially those in the Non Aligned Movement (NAM), support the just cause of the Palestinians, Sri Lanka, it seems, has moved closer to the Israelis (like India) for reasons that perplex those of us who believe that Sri Lanka is an ardent supporter of the Palestinians. Virtually the entire world voted for the inclusion of Palestine in UNESCO with the obvious exception of the United States of America, which as you know will do Israel’s bidding at any time even if it’s against the interests of the US, as has been the case more often than not.

STANDING UP FOR ASSANGE

Saturday 25, August, 2012

STANDING UP FOR ASSANGE

Hameed Abdul Karim

Joshua E. Keating’s piece titled ‘How WikiLeaks Blew Itline’ in ‘Ceylon Today’(Wednesday 22 August 2012) was a sophisticated assault on Julian Assange and his fearless work in informing the world what really happens behind the scenes when the empire speaks of ‘making the world safe for democracy’.. Thanks to Julian Assange virtually the whole world now knows the lies and deceit the US Empire indulges in when it postulates about human rights and human dignity when in reality what it actually wants is to perpetuate its hegemony on the entire world so that it can live off the fat of the land, like all empires that came before. All empires have perished and it is certain that the US Empire will suffer the same fate sooner or later.

RIGHT WING

Joshua Keating’s right wing views stand exposed when he critiques Assange for interviewing Hezbollah’s Hassan Nasrallah in a ‘soft ball interview’ claiming that the show didn’t help Assange’s credibility because it was aired on RT. (Incidentally, RT (Russia Today) is available to Sri Lankan audiences on LBN cable TV as is Iran’s Press TV). With whom is his credibility is at stake anyway? Evidently Mr. Keating is talking about the miniscule right wing groups who wouldn’t want to acknowledge Assange the same way the devil wouldn’t want to acknowledge the existence of God, even though he knows He exists. Besides, credibility is not the issue here because Assange has not said anything of his own. What he had done is to expose the disgraceful secrets of the evil empire that existed behind the façade of the ‘do-gooder’ image it had craftily created for itself. What’s more, if they were to acknowledge what Assange had exposed they would stand to lose their enormous wealth, status and power. As far as I am concerned, Assange’s credibility with me, along with millions of others in the world, is quite safe and sound. Thank you, Mr. Keating.

Caesar’s Mistress Stands Exposed
By Hameed Abdul Karim

Have you heard of anything like this before? I mean a Western nation demanding the arrest of one of their own and then a ‘third world’ country stepping in and offering him political asylum? This is topsy -turvy world and the UK, the ‘mother of democracies’where free speech is sacred …or was , willingly becoming the empires’ mistress and doing all it can to send Julian Assange packing to the US via Sweden to be executed or, if he’s lucky, to spend the rest of his life in jail … maybe at Guantanamo Bay.

The free speech wallahs in the empire remain deaf and dumb concentrating instead on easy pickings on China and ‘third world’ countries for their human rights violations. But when it comes to Julian Assange they prefer to go back on their ‘embedded journalism’ nonsense. Or ‘in bed with the empire’ journalism, if you like.

THE CURIOUS CASE OF THE SINAI SLAUGHTER

The Curious Case of the Sinai Slaughter

Hameed Abdul Karim

When Muslims break fast during the month of Ramadan, everything stands suspended for that moment while they reflect on the day and observe prayers and make supplications for themselves and their families. This is the tradition of the Ramadan fast the world over.

So when news of the attack on Egyptian border guards killing sixteen of them broke out, Muslims were shocked and wondered what had gone wrong. The border guards, as was reported, were breaking their fasts when a gang of marauders opened fire. Usually a Muslim would be only too happy to share his food with another human being at this point of time. So it is reasonable to assume the marauders were not Muslims or maybe they carried only Muslim names and didn’t care much about their faith.

JAMAL: OUR MAN IN PALESTINE

Sunday 22 July, 2012

Jamal:  ‘Our’ Man in Palestine

Hameed Abdul Karim

It’s not every day that you see a foreigner greeting another foreigner with the words ‘Ayubowan’ with clasped hands and all in a foreign land. But that’s how Jamal Soliman greeted the Palestinian secretary of Dr. T. Jayasinghe, our affable ambassador in Palestine, when Mahinda Hattaka and I visited our embassy in Ramallah.

Jamal Soliman is our ambassador’s driver and translator and PR man all rolled into one. Tall, handsome and built like an ox, with features similar to British actor John Gleese; he is quite as jovial as his look alike and never at a loss for words to give you a laugh. Quite a guy this Jamal!

A RESPONSE TO 'MILITARY RULE IN GLOBAL CONTEXT'

WEDNESDAY 18 JULY 2012

Let Me Dream

A Response to ‘Military Rule in Global Context’

Hameed Abdul Karim

Kazim Anwarul Masud’s article (Ceylon Today Saturday 14 July, 2012) titled ‘Military Rule in Global Context’, though thought provoking in some aspects, gives you the impression that the writer is championing America’s globo cop role and using Pakistan chronic state of affairs to justify his stand. This, among other pro-American and pro-India statements, is made clear when he repeats the American claim that it was Al-Qaeda who carried out the 9-11 attack in the heart of the Empire’s financial hub.

Up until today no impartial inquiry has been conducted to establish this claim beyond any doubt, as is required in civilized society. When Barack Obama parroted this spurious claim saying that Osama bin Laden had claimed responsibility for 9-11, no lesser a person than the much respected Prof. Noam Chomsky called Obama a liar because he said Osama bin Laden had made no such claim.

Dr.Jayasinghe: The Doyen of the Palestinian Community

Dr. Jayasinghe: The Doyen of the Palestinian Community

Hameed Abdul Karim

On one day of our visit to Palestine we were stuck without transport and so we called Dr. Jayasinghe, our representative in Palestine, and explained our situation. He told us not to worry and that he will ‘do something’. A while later he called us and said someone will come to pick us up in about fifteen minutes.

That ‘someone’ turned out to be the landlord of the house in which the Sri Lankan embassy is situated. He happens to be quite a wealthy man with considerable clout. On the way he told us he had visited Sri Lanka on one occasion and was quite taken up by the hospitality of her people. Talking about Dr. Jayasinghe he told us that he would do anything for him even if he called him in the middle of the night.  “I love the man like a father’ he said. Such is the high esteem in which Dr. Jayasinghe is held in the Palestinian community.

If Bradley Manning Were Chinese…..

Hameed Abdul Karim

For weeks on end the international media was full of sentimental stories of Chinese ‘dissident’ Chen Guancheng. His escape from house arrest was dramatised to make it look like it was a scene from the Hollywood blockbuster ‘The Great Escape’. Cheng was our new Steve McQueen. But unlike McQueen, who had to go back to jail, Cheng had a happy ending. He is now in the US studying law.

That was not all. There were stories of his family members and how they were running scared of the terrible Chinese government. Their lives were in danger and at any moment any one of them could be shot dead. Suspense hung in the air like a floppy hat.

RESPONDING TO 'PAK HINDUS' PLIGHT CAUSES CONCERN IN US'

Saturday 19 May 2012

Responding to ‘Pak Hindus’ Plight Causes Concern in US’

Hameed Abdul Karim

Forcible conversions to any faith are tantamount to oppression. More so in Islam, because the Qur’an says ‘there is no compulsion in religion and that truth is clear from error’. So when Muslims anywhere in the world read Manzoor Ahmed’s piece in Ceylon Today (Sat. 5th May 2012) titled ‘Pak Hindus’ Plight Causes Concern in US’ they were sure to be embarrassed and ashamed of their co-religionists’ conduct in Pakistan where Ahmed alleges that a Hindu girl by the name of Rinkel Kumari was abducted and forcibly converted to Islam.

But when you check up the controversy you will find that Manzoor Ahmed has exaggerated the story to suit his agenda of Pakistan bashing based as he is in New Delhi and following the line of attack set out by the ruling Brahmins of India. You see that all the time on Indian TV channels like NDTV.

THE LONDON BOMBINGS AND DOUBLE STANDARDS

The London bombings and double standards

Hameed Abdul Karim

We live in a topsy-turvy world bereft not only of moral standards that our forefathers cherished so much but also of reason. Look at it this way - when the French killed thousands of their fellow countrymen for collaborating with the Nazis they were quickly labeled brave men - men with a mission. But Hitler’s propaganda machinery called them terrorists. The French- and the rest of the ‘free world’ eulogized them so much that till today their memories are sanctified and recorded for posterity and hardly an independence day passes by without some media or government spokesmen making an honourable mention of their sacrifices for France. That’s fine.

Leon Panetta had to face the cameras yet again to issue yet another of his recycled apology when Obama’s warriors were caught once again with yet another outrage in Afghanistan. This time personnel of the 82nd airborne division were featured posing with the mangled remains of dead Afghans. But guess what? There was no ‘shock and awe’. It seems like the world has been anesthetized with the empire’s massive propaganda machinery that has worked round the clock to dehumanise its victims. Like the empire’s previous victims in Vietnam or Korea or Kampuchea or the many Latin American countries, the killing of Afghans or for that matter the Pakistani’s, Palestinians or the Iraqi’s cause no revulsions in the world. It seems they were destined to die, as deserving victims, at Obama’s hands like as if in accordance with some macabre scriptural prophecy.

ENGLISH COMMON LAW....DERIVED FROM SHARIA

                                            Daily News Online

Monday 2 April, 2012

English Common Law, French, US and International Law:
Inspiration from Sharia Law
Hameed Abdul Karim

When you think of the word ‘law’ the images that come to your mind are of a stern looking judge seated on an elevated position in the centre of a court house flanked by a grim looking, if not frightened, members of a jury. Lawyers dressed in their flowing robes quarrelling among each other to impress their respective clients, wicked criminals and many more such images. But think of the word ‘Sharia’ and what are the pictures that pop up in your mind? Chopping of hands and stoning to death for adultery.

Don’t blame yourself. This is the manner in which our minds have been conditioned over a long period of time. ‘Law’ is civilized, ‘Sharia’ is barbaric. This line of misinformation is more accentuated nowadays especially with the advent of the ‘Arab Spring’ with Muslim groups wanting to bring in Sharia in Muslim majority countries. But hang on a minute.

RESPONDING TO CHINA, PAKISTAN AND THE IRNAIAN BOMB'

Saturday 311 March 2012

‘Responding to China, Pakistan and the Iranian Bomb’

Hameed Abdul Karim

According to Western public discourse there are two types of Muslim. One is a ‘fundamentalist’ the other is a ‘moderate’ Muslim. The former is one who wants to be independent from Western hegemony and the latter is one who cozies up to the Western agenda, wittingly or unwittingly. But now there is a new kid on the block. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the Rand Corporation Muslim. ‘Who the heck is he’, you might ask and quite rightly so. Well, for starters he or she is a Muslim or, more appropriately, one who wears the ‘Muslim’ name tag and one who is trained and financed by America’s Rand Corporation to dilute Islam to a point where its adherents will no longer be a stumbling block to the empire’s plans for total world hegemony. And Manzoor Ahamed, writing under the title ‘China, Pakistan and the Iranian Bomb’ (Ceylon Today’ Sat.  24 March, 2012) fits the description of a ‘Rand Muslim’ like a glove going by his vilification of Pakistan’s much maligned nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan  who  gave his country its ‘Islamic bomb’.

Prophet Muhammad: The man and his mission

by Hameed Abdul Karim

Most people think that the attack on the Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) by secular fundamentalists, especially in the West, is something new. But the fact of the matter is that such attacks on the person of this Blessed Man go back to the earliest days of his Prophet hood. The recent cartoon controversy is only one in a long series of vilification campaigns that have gone on for centuries. No religious leader in history has ever faced such a dreadful campaign of character assassination ever.

Slander against the Prophet Muhammad

A Sri Lankan take

by Hameed Abdul Karim

A Paiestinian man burns a Danish flag as the Nativity church appears in the background in the West Bank city of Bethlaham 06 February 2006, during a demonstration against the publication of cartoons portraying the Prophet Mohammad in a Danish daily and some other countries in Europe. AFP
Not only Muslims, but also all decent people all over the world must be upset over the recent caricature of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing of God Almighty be on him) in a Danish newspaper.
As a Muslim I am terribly hurt over this latest slander in a long, unrelenting and merciless campaign against his holy personage.

As a Muslim I am required to love this man - this mighty messenger of God Almighty - more than anybody or anything else in the world. One can imagine the pain this Danish newspaper would have caused to Muslims.
As a Muslim I must also confess that it is not only the Prophet Muhammad but also the Prophet Jesus Christ (may peace be on them) who has been derided by the Western media. The only Prophet of God who escaped such vilification is the Prophet Moses (peace be on him) - fortunately.

COVER UP IN PROCESS?

COVER UP IN PROCESS?

THURSDAY, 01 MARCH 2012 00:4

E-mailPrint
First we were told that the FBI had uncovered an Iranian plot to assassinate Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the US. From the tales that emanated from the empire the plot looked so ridiculous that it beggars belief. Iran, we were told, had hired a Mexican drug peddler and a used car dealer to carry out the murder. Going by recent Iranian achievements we can safely assume the Iranians are not a bunch of idiots to hatch such a crackpot plan. The story was so absurd that even the poker faced White House spokesman announcing the 'breaking news' couldn't focus his eyes on the cameras. He told the world that the empire had 'strong evidence', but after the initial hoopla and hype, no such evidence has been given and the story seems to have died down after it was taken away from the TV news.
